Make Ahead Meals  Round-Up

Friends and family around us are in transitions and distractions of all kinds, some joyful, some scary.  This week's kitchen activities will be centered on mass-production of freezer meals that will benefit both our family and those we love.  

Dinners:
  • "I Fall to Pieces" Crockpot Flank Steak

  • Mini Meatloaves
  • A Lower-Fat Bolognese Meat Sauce
  • Roasted Veggie Tortilla Casserole

Tuesday:  Slow cooker flank steak, carrots, frozen strawberry layer cake 
Wednesday:  Veggies and pasta, salad, tofu chocolate mousse pie
Thursday : Daddy/daughter date out
Friday:  Grilled pork chops, broccolini, risotto

Snacks and Treats:
Blueberries covered in honey Greek yogurt and frozen
Whole-wheat chocolate zucchini brownies

Zoe Bento Breakfast Plans 7-10

Most breakfast bentos have a grain, a protein, a dairy, a fruit/veggie (and sometimes a special treat.)  Also, her school prohibits nuts.

Tuesday: Grapes, gluten free bagel with butter, yogurt, water
Wednesday: Chocolate tofu mouse (link to recipe), strawberries, ham, crackers, 2 florets steamed broccoli, milk
Thursday: Mango cubes, ww waffles, bacon, milk
Friday: Watermelon, apple jacks, turkey and cheese kabobs, water

Monday: Orange slices, steel-cut Irish oats with honey, plain Greek yogurt garnished with mint, water
Tuesday: Pineapple, strawberry yogurt, club crackers, and an organic egg/hashbrown muffin, water
Wednesday: Fruit smoothie with whey powder and yogurt, toast with butter
Thursday: Honey yogurt with colorful sprinkles, baby banana, fresh cherries, animal crackers, water
Friday: Beef jerky, hard-boiled egg, cocoa-almonds, mixed berries, milk

Monday: Fruit salad, hardboiled egg, ham, cheese stick, water
Tuesday: Yogurt covered blueberries, grilled chicken strips with avocado dip, goldfish, water
Wednesday: Dried cherries, breakfast taco, milk
Thursday: Strawberries, kale and roasted tomato breakfast bites, leftover steamed carrots, milk

Monday: Strawberry/pineapple/whey protein/tofu/spinach smoothie
Tuesday: Sliced avocado, scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, 4 tator tots
Wednesday: Applesauce, sausage kolaches, zucchini chips, milk
Thursday: Banana, salami, cheese, crackers, water
Friday: Corn blueberry muffin, yogurt with sprinkles, sliced turkey, milk
Friday: Watermelon, French toast with agave syrup, turkey sausage, milk

I try to make sure each day there is a grain, a protein, a dairy, a fruit/veggie, and a special treat.
bento breakfast:  smoked sausage, strawberries, hard boiled egg, half ww waffle, piece of cereal bar in shape of star
Monday:  (left) smoked sausage, strawberries, hard boiled egg, half ww waffle, piece of cereal bar in shape of star, milk
Tuesday:  homemade gummies (link to recipe), pear, rice crackers, sharp cheddar and salami kabobs, water
Wednesday:  yogurt with bananas and granola, peach slices, turkey, water
Thursday: yogurt covered blueberries, link sausage bites, tortilla with melted cheese, water
Friday: Nutella sandwich, watermelon flowers, whey protein smoothie

bento breakfast: muesli bread, grapes, hard boiled egg, banana and apple, cheese slices, smoked sausage
Monday: mini waffles, heart-shaped ham, cheese slices, green and red grapes, star fruit slice, 5 chocolate chips, water
Tuesday: (left)  muesli bread, grapes, hard boiled egg, banana and apple, cheese slices, smoked sausage, water
Wednesday:  Pancakes, breakfast sausage, a homemade yogurt parfait, maple syrup, an orange, some Trader Joe's yogurt stars, water
Thursday: Fruit salad, small croissant, cottage cheese, orange juice
Friday:  cantaloupe, a heart-shaped sweet potato pancake, sage sausage, yellow cherry tomatoes, milk

bento breakfast: trawberries and pineapple, chocolate cereal bites, crackers, ham, string cheese, tomatoes and carrots

Monday: tangerine snail (example), slice of pizza, yogurt with sprinkles, V8
Tuesday: animal crackers, mini banana, pitted cherries, whey protein smoothie
Wednesday: mini zucchini muffin, bacon, applesauce, milk
Thursday: (left)  strawberries and pineapple, chocolate cereal bites, crackers, ham, string cheese, tomatoes and carrots, water
Friday: whole wheat toast, apple, turkey, string cheese, V8
